Everyone puts their best foot forward when they’re trying to get hired. Resumes are all about telling people what we think they want to hear and job. Interviews are more of the same. People say whatever will get them the job, not the deep truth, if they’re even aware of it.

Unfortunately people are generally not self-aware enough to be conscious of their trauma loops, the subtle ways that they manipulate people into acting out the worst experiences we’ve had in relationships, or witnessed in others. We can’t help ourselves but to drive a situation toward those triggers because we want to understand and resolve them.
